Also, for my tag-ees, I decided this tag is enough fun that it deserves its own button ... so feel free to grab it for your post if you agree with me!

ELEVEN RANDOM FACTS ABOUT MYSELF

1. I am nearsighted and wear glasses.

2. I have a claddagh ring that I wear every day (following the rules, of course).

3. Someday, I am going to have a pet parakeet, because I love birds, and I can't wait to have one of my own.

4. Like millions of Americans, I am descended from John Alden and Priscilla Mullins.

5. However, my ancestors from another branch of my family just arrived in the United States about 100 years ago.

6. My top 5 favorite singers are Josh Groban, Phil Collins, John Denver, Fernando Ortega, and Karen
Carpenter.

7. I think the most handsome president was Franklin W. Pierce.

8. My favorite Disney female character is Jane Porter from Tarzan.

9. If I could have any career I wanted, I would be a reporter or editor for a midsized newspaper.

10. If you ask me anything about the BBC Sherlock series, I can probably tell you anything you want to know, including how Season 3 ends ... but I still have never seen the series.

11. My very favorite article of clothing is my red Converse tennis shoes.


ANSWERS TO MELODY'S ELEVEN QUESTIONS

1. What is your attitude toward reptiles?

For the most part, I like them, and think they're interesting and pretty/cute ... alligators and crocodiles do NOT count.

2. Do you know what a Mumakil is?

I didn't, but I went and looked it up, and discovered it's from Lord of the Rings ... I'm not a member of that fandom, I'm sorry!!

3. How many state capitals have you been in?

*Whispering in shame*  Two .......

4. Have you read Sir Walter Scott's Ivanhoe?

Not yet, but I have it in my Kindle library and hope to read it sometime!

5. Have you read Jane Austen's Lady Susan?

Again, not yet, but it's in my huge Jane Austen anthology, and I do plan to read it someday!

6. What is your favorite rendition of "Amazing Grace"?

*Sniff*  Scotty playing it on his bagpipes during Spock's funeral on Star Trek III: The Search For Spock.  Makes me cry every time ...

7. Do you listen to country music?

Noooooo ...... my mom and sister like it, so I try not to be too rude when they put it on, but I just really don't like it.

8. Would you rather have a squirrel or a rabbit for a pet?

Umm .... a squirrel, because it could more easily ride around on my shoulder.  :-)

9. What is your favorite big cat?

I really like cheetahs and mountain lions ... tigers and African lions are really cool too!

10. Do you prefer your hair long or short?

Both, in a way ... I love to play with intricate updos, but it's actually much healthier and looks better when it's short.

11. What is your favorite color of rose?

Yellow!! I'm crazy about yellow roses!  :-D
